The Positions
The Planning Division is currently accepting applications to fill two Planner positions. Based on the successful candidates’ qualifications and experience, the positions may be filled at either the Principal or Senior level.
Principal Planner
This classification oversees entitlement functions and professional and technical staff. The Principal Planner manages complex projects, serve as the City Zoning Administrator, hires consultants, provides recommendations to leadership, and reviews and prepares CEQA and NEPA reports.
Senior Planner
This classification performs wide variety of current and long range planning assignments, with emphasis on review and processing of high priority and complex current planning applications. The Senior Planner will be integral in contributing to the City’s General Plan update and will review and update cannabis permits.
