The Position
This is an at-will Management Professional position under the direction and supervision of the Police Chief. This position:
- Plans, organizes, coordinates and manages the day-to-day operations of Sergeants and Patrol Officers, requiring extensive skill and experience in communication, management, and judgment and law enforcement.
- Assists in training of all employees. As necessary, performs any of the duties of Sergeants and Police Officers.
- Acts on behalf of the Police Chief during his/her absence. Assures that operations and standards are maintained and are consistent with departmental goals and objectives.
- Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures and recommend within departmental policy appropriate service and staffing levels.
