The Senior Transportation Planner performs advanced and specialized professional planning duties to support District transportation planning functions and processes; conducts the more complex transit planning and service delivery studies and identifies issues; obtains, organizes, analyzes and presents data for transportation related studies; develops and recommends planning policies; prepares and presents oral and written planning reports.
Responsible for independently performing a variety of professional level transportation planning functions. Positions at this level exercise judgment and initiative in their assigned tasks, receive only occasional guidance or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the key tasks for successfully planning, obtaining, programming, and using transit/transportation dollars as well as the typical operations of directly operated public transit service.
