Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $70,824 – $86,076.
The Organization and Locale
Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan), a public wastewater and solid waste utility located in unincorporated Alameda County known as Castro Valley. Castro Valley is located in the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area of California. Nestled in a quiet valley surrounded by tree covered rolling hills, Castro Valley residents enjoy a rural atmosphere at the hub of California’s cultural, economical and recreational heartland. Castro Valley boasts such natural amenities as an extensively developed park system, swimming lagoon, 315 acre lake, and a beautiful 18 hole golf course.
The Position
CVSan is recruiting a highly-motivated individual who will serve as Financial Specialist, overseeing and participating in all fiscal activities, under the direction of an Administrative Supervisor. The person chosen for this important hands-on position will perform financial processing, payroll, treasury reporting, auditing, contract interpretation, and other day-to-day functions. Particular emphasis will be placed on the ability to assist in budget preparation, production of a full financial reporting package, administer payroll, and perform all areas of general accounting.
Requirements
The education and experience required to minimally qualify for this position are graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, economics, business, or public administration or related field and three (3) years of experience in maintaining financial records and preparing statements in a public agency setting.
