The Position

Under general direction of the Deputy Director of Programming and Projects, the Senior Transportation Engineer will manage the Alameda CTC’s express lane operations and smart corridor operations, 680 Southbound, ensuring that the express lanes are running correctly, working with CHP to monitor traffic and citations, working with consultants to maintain the systems, and ensuring that repairs are made in a timely fashion. Will also assume responsibility for I-580 between Pleasanton and Livermore later this year. The new incumbent will serve as the lead transportation programming engineer and lead administrator of assigned programs; manage, coordinate, and facilitate the development and administration of funding distribution, programming policies and procedures, grants guidelines, evaluation criteria, selection, monitoring and control processes; and provide complex professional assistance to executive team in areas of expertise.

Qualifications

Requires education equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering, transportation engineering, or a related field, five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in civil, traffic, and/or transportation engineering and related activities, possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver’s License by time of appointment, and possession and maintenance of a valid certificate or registration as a Professional Civil Engineer or Transportation Engineer in the State of California.

 Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range is $103,655 to $134,751 depending on qualifications and experience.
