Sandra’s professional qualifications include twenty one years of experience working in the public sector at California State University (CSU), both at the Pomona and San Bernardino campuses. At the Pomona campus, she began as Manager, Compensation and Benefits and was promoted to Manager, Employment and Compensation where she was responsible for managing both areas, including approving and classifying new positions for recruitments, conducting classification reviews and appeals, providing salary analyses, and implementing reorganizations in a Union environment. Sandra was also responsible for the Conflict of Interest Program, Background Checks, Business Continuity, and Mandated Reporter. She implemented a first-ever HR Intern Program. Most recently, as Manager, Classification and Compensation at the San Bernardino campus, she continued to focus on managing the classification and compensation area for the campus in addition to reviewing and approving independent contractors and implementing an HR Intern program.
In addition, Sandra has 12 years of private sector compensation and benefits experience (specializing in 401k administration) in three industries: Engineering, Electronics Distribution, and Tribal Casino.
A Southern California native, Sandra earned her BS degree in Management and Human Resources with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Cal Poly Pomona.
