Amy’s professional qualifications include twenty-five (25) years of experience in the Human Resources field, primarily in the public and non-profit sectors. She worked for the County of Santa Barbara for more than fifteen (15) years, rising from entry-level analyst in the Human Resources Department to supervisor. She gained experience in classification and compensation, recruitment and selection, training and development, employee relations and performance management, managing disability and fitness-for-duty issues, and general human resources administration.

Most recently, Amy served in Human Resources leadership roles in the healthcare and higher education fields. As the chief HR officer for a group of health clinics and later for an institution of higher education (both non-profits), Amy oversaw compensation, benefits, employee recruiting, training, employee relations, performance management, and employee engagement. As a member of the senior leadership team, she participated in strategic planning for the organization and advised her CEOs on addressing sensitive situations such as performance issues and interpersonal conflicts.

Amy earned her B.A. degree in Comparative Literature from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She is a member of the national Society of Human Resource Management (, and a member (and past board member) of the Santa Barbara Human Resources Association.
